What is your personal mission statement?
I want young girls to know that they do not need to be a model in order to
be loved and of value. That is a lie that the media has sold you. I believed
that lie for a long time until I realized that I am smart, talented, and capable
of far more than being pretty. Each one of us is powerful. Not with our
physical strength but with our consciousness, passion, and love that we are
women are born with. It is time for us to stop focusing on perfecting our
bodies and debating what is “sexy” or more desirable to others. It is time
that we start to realize we are far more than our bodies and when we do, our
lives will change forever. True empowerment comes from your soul not the

size of your butt, jeans, or bra. By connecting to your true self you have an
opportunity to reclaim your free will and think for yourself. That is the
greatest gift of all because that is when you can consciously create yourself
and allow your body to be a physical expression of the real you that lives
within.
How do you handle fear?
In the weight room [laughs]. I have always felt fear. Working in a small
competitive industry and then deciding at tweny-five you are going to start
your own agency is pretty scary. I feared what others thought of me and if I
would be successful. I feared not reaching my potential and being mocked.
I felt it all and feared it all but I did it anyway. Just like when I lift weights
in the gym, sometimes I tell myself I can’t do it. In that moment I really
believe I can’t do one more rep, but then I do. Fear is just a road block you
have to push through. It is a distraction that pulls your focus away from the
task at hand and into negativity and that is why you have to shut it down
and keep going.
I worked with a model I have known for years a few months back. We
haven’t seen each other for at least five years and she said to me, “You
know when you started your agency we all laughed and though, “That will
never be anything. But now your girls are everywhere and I have to give
you credit, you did it. You are legit.”
Gotta love those back handed compliments! It is moments like that, when I
just smile and think, “Who’s laughing now?” No matter what you are doing
or attempting to do, there will be people who will mock you, laugh at you,
say you can’t, and you wont. But they have no control over what you do or
how successful you are, unless you allow them to. If you focus on what you
know, what you are great at, and you work hard, those people are irrelevant
and so is fear.
