Compound Subjects and Predicates
A 
compound subject
has two or more simple subjects that are joined by a conjunction
and that share the same verb. A 
compound predicate
(or compound verb) has two or
more verbs or verb phrases that are joined by a conjunction. They share the same subject.
Compound subject:
Jerry and Jeri, best friends since first grade, enjoy the
confusion caused by their first names.
Compound predicate: They drew near to the nest and discovered inside a bird with a
broken wing.
