UZBEK LANGUAGE EDUCATION IN SOUTH KOREA UNIVERSITIES

 Annotation. Today, the Uzbek language is taught as a major subject in two South 
Korean universities. The first of these is the Hankuk University of Foreign Languages, which 
teaches Turkic languages such as Kazakh and Uzbek at the Department of Central Asian Studies. 
In addition, this department provides students with detailed information about the economy, 
society, history and culture of the Central Asian countries. Busan University of Foreign 
Languages is the second university where the Uzbek language is taught as a major subject. In 
the department of Turkish and Central Asian languages of this university, students are taught 
Turkish, Uzbek, Kazakh, Kyrgyz, Turkmen and Azerbaijan languages, history, culture, society 
and economy od this countries.
The purpose of this study is to observe the Uzbek language education in South Korean 
universities and to improve Uzbek language education abroad by analyzing the problems in this 
process. To achieve this research goal, Korean students who studying Uzbek languge at Hankuk 
Foreign Languages University were observed and analyzed for one year. 
According to the results of the research, two kinds of problems were observed in learning 
process of Uzbek language among Korean students. The first was a phonetic problem, and the 
second was a grammatical problem. 
This study serves as an important resource for studying the process of Uzbek language 
education abroad, analyzing and solving problems in this process.
