Ensure the free movement of citizens. The Tajik side
believes that at the current stage there is no need for the visa
regime and stands for its complete abolition.
2.
The recovery of the work of all checkpoints on the
border which are mostly located on the Great Silk Road.
According to the most conservative estimates, only the
restoration of the interstate railway station "Galaba"
-
"Amuzang" is able to increase the flow of goods on the Uzbek
railways by 5 million tons per year.
3.
Effective use of transit transport corridors as catalysts
for expanding mutual trade. In this regard, we welcome the
recent decision by the administration of the railways of
57
Uzbekistan to provide discounts on freight trains from Tajikistan.
Similar measures should be applied to the cost of air tickets
which are currently unreasonably high and unavailable for the
absolute majority of the population of our countries.
4.
Removal of existing restrictions in trade and transit of
goods, expansion of the range of mutual trade through the
inclusion of energy resources. This, in our opinion, will increase
the trade performance many times. For example, it can be said
that annually the hydroelectric power plants of Tajikistan carry
out a single spillway with a volume of about 6 billion kW/h of
electricity which could be supplied to the Uzbek market at
reasonable prices.
5.
Expansion of cultural and humanitarian cooperation
through the resumption of student exchange, scientific and
technological cooperation.
