Examples of Auxiliary Verbs Expressing Voice 
Here are some examples of auxiliary verbs expressing voice.

(In these examples, the auxiliary verb to be helps to form the passive voice. A 
verb is said to be in the passive voice when its subject does not perform the action 
of the verb but has the action done to it.)

Task 1. Translate the text into Uzbek. 
People cannot live without friends. Real friendship is possible only when people respect and trust each 
other, when they have the same interests, when they do something useful together. They say «A friend in 
need is a friend indeed». True friends are always ready to help each other when you are in a difficult 
situation. Friends make our life happier and more interesting. It is difficult to find a true friend. If you do 
something wrong you may lose a friend, that’s why always think how to keep friendship. If you want to 
have a friend, you have to be a good friend yourself. I have a lot of friends. But my bosom friend is Diana. 
She isn’t very tall, she’s fair, slim and pretty. I like Diana because she is well- bred, clever, honest, true, 
jolly and kind and generous. She did well at school. She is fond of reading. My friend has a lot of books. 
She goes in for sport. She plays the piano. She has a rich imagination and her own 120 style. I respect and 
trust her. We have the same interests. We never envy each other. I do my best to keep my friendship and 
not to quarrel. We usually debate important events. Now we are going to enter the University. We read a 
lot together, learn, write compositions. We attend special courses for school- leavers. We help each other 
to become students in the nearest future. We are faithful friends.
