Rudyard Kipling
Kipling was born on 30 December 1865 in Bombay and passed away on 18 January 1936. His father John Lockwood Kipling was an art teacher, illustrator and museum curator who spent most of his career in India. His mother Alice was one of the four MacDonald sisters who are famous for their marriages to well-known people of the Victorian era.
Rudyard was a British poet, novelist and short story writer. You can find that his works focus on the stories for children and the life of British soldiers in poems and tales. His famous poems include: «If», A Father’s Advice to His Son” and so on. In his work, The Jungle Book, he artistically portrayed the magical aspects of nature with the blend of peculiar concepts of characters.
He was the first English language writer who obtained the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1907.
Kipling's reputation, however, has suffered considerably since his death due in large part to his political views on imperialism and his racist attitudes towards minorities.
