INTRODUCTION (abstract of the PhD dissertation)
The aim of the research is to develop scientifically-substantiated
recommendations through the identification of principles, forms, methods and
means of improving the professional and pedagogical activities of English teachers
in the system of higher education.
The tasks of the research are:
clarifying the conditions and practical state of the improvement of
professional and pedagogical activities of professors and teachers of higher
education institutions on the basis of comparative-typological
analysis of
scientific-pedagogical, sociological, philosophical and historical sources;
identifying the conditions for improving the content of professional and
pedagogical activities of professors and teachers of higher education institutions on
the basis of English language materials;
improving the mechanism of enhancing professional
and pedagogical
activities of professors and teachers of higher education institutions by identifying
the development stages of professional skills of English teachers;
developing the information and methodological support for the development
of
linguistic, sociolinguistic, pragmatic, speech
and lexical competences in
teaching English.
