1Peculiarities and role of passive and active grammar material in teaching English

The topicality of the work. English language is acknowledged as an international language because many people from different countries use it as a means of communication. Our time poses a task for the school – improving the quality of education and upbringing, firmly mastering the fundamentals of science, and ensuring a higher scientific level of teaching each subject. Educational establishments abandon the traditional form of instruction that does not take into account the individual abilities of each student. Updating education requires the development of models of schools of a new type, the creation of new textbooks and curricula, the development of new teaching methods. The school needs such organizational and substantive conditions under which each student could fully master the educational minimum established by the programs. That is why English is taught from elementary school level.
The basic skills of English learning are listening, reading, speaking, and writing. Our concern as language teachers is not to inform our students about the language, but to develop their ability to use language. Based on the statement above, we can get a point that students should be taught how to use and apply knowledge they got at school. One of the points that emphasizes the process of acquisition new knowledge and skills is to teach pupils the sociocultural lacunae in the English classes. It will lead to the increasing the cultural aspect of communicative competence.
Teachers should discover creative strategies to enhance students’ interests to active and passive material. The study of sociocultural lacunae is considered to be used in English classes, especially in teaching productive skills. This paper aims to discuss the writing style and techniques in active and passive material in English.
The goal of the work is to study the peculiarities of active and passive materials in English.
To achieve the goals the following objectives were put forward:
- to describe the essentials of teaching foreign language;
- to analyze peculiarities and role of active and passive materials;
- to determine methods of teaching foreign language.
