Strategies for improving writing

I can’t write in English properly. My friends find a lot of mistakes in my paragraphs. I always make mistakes in spelling, especially, when words are pronounced one way and written in another way; for example, sometimes such words like ‘receive’, ‘knowledge’ and ‘hierarchy’ make me mad. I try to avoid using such words in my writing, but I know that I should use more complicated words to get higher score in IELTS test. I definitely need to do something to improve my spelling. What would you suggest?

Strategies for improving pronunciation

I have studied English for five years, and I always find it difficult to pronounce some words. I think it is one of the most important things in learning the language. If you have incorrect pronunciation, people might not understand you, especially if you want to enter a prestigious university. To solve this problem, I usually use some extra listening which helps me to pronounce the words correctly. What else can you suggest to help me to improve my pronunciation?
