English -5 , Unit -5, Lesson-2, “Pets and domestic animals.”


Lesson objectives / expected results:

• 
  to enable pupils to use words for domestic animals
  
• 
  to enable pupils to talk about possessions using have/has got
  
• 
  to give pupils practicing in writing short personal letters
  

At the end of the lesson pupils will be able to
. say and use in the sentences the names of some pets and domestic animals;
. distinguish the irregular plural forms of the names of some domestic animals;
. spell the names of the animals;
. talk about what animals they and their friends have got;
. write a short letter about their possessions (in terms of animals).
Materials: two large sheets of papers, a tape recorder, markers, animal pictures, flashcards, overhead projector, group members` responsibilities badges.
Stages of the lesson.

   Motivation. Getting the cards to make up groups.

   Presentation. Introducing the new theme and matching (ex. 1a).

   Practice stage. Group work. Writing the plurals, pointing to the pictures, and spelling the new words.(ex-s. 1b, 1c, 2a, 2b).

   Production stage. Pair -work. Reading, answering and reporting (ex-s.3a, b and 4).
