Mirshikor (or amiri shikor, mirishikor) –It is a title in the Temurids palace. He was responsible for hunting of the royal family and did all the work touching upon hunting. Babur wrote that the falcon which he used in hunting near Punjab was fed by a “mirshikor” called Shaihim [“B”, p. 233 a].
B.Y. “MIRSHIKORNOMA” – It is a name of the book devoted to hunting practice. It was written in Persian language and covered all the aspects of hunting including places and stencils. The author of the book was Mirmuhammad who lived during the period of Akbar. The author practiced hunting with falcon for 40 years. The book consisted of 37 chapters, which dealt with rules of hunting with falcon, species and feature of hunting birds, the technology of feeding and teaching, their illness and treatments. Besides the book is a source for it gave schedule of Babur’s hunting with falcons. The only copy of the book is kept in the fund of Institute of Oriental Science. F.K. Reference: SBR, Meditsina. № 772. MIRSHOH QAVCHIN (Eng. Mir Shakh Quchin) –He was one of the nobles of Babur. He accompanied Babur in the years of wandering. He was taken to prison in the battle near Yassi Kechit. He was also released according to the agreement between Babur and Ahmad Tambal. He participated in conquest of Samarkand, battle of Saripul and later defense of Samarkand. Then he took part in marches over Kabul, Bajavr, Sawad and other provinces. Babur stopped at Mir Shah Beg’s house when he went to Khwaja Seyoran and Istalif to have a rest in 1519 [“B”, p. 240 b]. F.K. References: W.Erskine. Bobur Hindistonda. T., “Cho’lpon”.: 1995. MIR’OT – It is a literary term of poetical device of Arabic origin. It expresses “mirror” and used in Islamic religious poetry of Sufism in the meaning of “mirror of the soul”. Muntaqish bo’lsa ko’ngul mir’oti, Bo’ldi Haq nafyiyu g’ayr isboti. (from “Volidiya”) O.J. “MIR’OTI ISKANDARIY” – It is a name of the historic book. It was written in Persian language in 1612. The author was Iskandar Ibn Muhammad (a friend of Jahangir Shah). The book is also called as “Tarihi Gujarot”. It tells the events between 1407 and 1591. For instance, it gives information about Babur and the Baburids deeds in Gujarat province. F.K. “MIR’OTUL-JAVOHIR” – It is a name of the book devoted to minerals and mineralogy. It was written in Persian language and dedicated to Jahangir Shah. It was written by Ibodullah Amanullah. As the author based on books in Indian language, there were used many Indian words in the book, though it was in Persian. There are independent chapters devoted to diamond, ruby, emerald, sapphire, pearl, agate and other valuable minerals.
