MANDAG‘ON (Eng. Mandaghan) – It is a name of a place and a river near Balkh. [“B”, p.184].
MANDARIN (Eng. tangor or mandarin) – It is one of the citrus fruit in Latin “citrus nobilus”. It was originated from China (in uzbek language called yusufiy). There were mentioned many sorts of orange and lemon in Baburname Perhaps it’s no exception that mandarin was one of them.

MANDIROVAR (Eng. Mandrawar ) – It is a name of the region in Kabul province. It situated in the north of Kabul. Babur appointed Nasir Mirza as ruler for Mandrawar and several neighboring regions, after he had conquered Kabul (1504). When Nasir Mirza went to Badakhshan, Babur appointed Sultan Said-Khan, who came to seek a refuge in Babur’s palace, as a ruler of a region. Later the region was ruled by brothers Qutluq Qadam and Daulat-Qadam. Babur visited the place called Kindgar belonging to Mandrawar region in 1518, on his way back from Lamghan. MANDU (Eng. Mandu or Mandau) – it is the capital of Malwa sultanate.
MANER (Eng. Munir) – It is a name of the settlement in Ari region, India. Babur in 1528 year stopped in Maner village when he travelled along the middle basins of the river Ganga: “As people said, It’s Maner when you see trees with dense bushes. The tomb of Shaikh Yahya the father of Shaikh Sharafu'ddin Maneiy is there”. It being so close, I crossed the river, went two or three “kuruhs” down it, traversed the Munir orchards, paid a visit to the tomb, returned to the river bank, made ablution” [“B”, p. 369].

MANZUM – It is a literary term of Arabic origin. It means reproduction of literary work of prose in poetic style or form. Babur called the translation of his book “Volidiya” as manzumic. [“B”, on folio 346 a]
MANIKPUR (Eng. Manikpur) - It is a name of a small town in Uttar-Pradesh state of India. The town present days is called as Garkhi Manikpur. It also called as “town of Sultans and saints”. There lived a number of famous people as: Alau-uddin Khilji, Jalaliddin Khilji, Balban, raja Manikchand, Sayyid Shihabiddin Gardizi, Sayyid Shamsiddin in Manikpur. [“B”, on folio 293 a].
