Maqbuz – see. Qabz.
MAQOM (Eng. Maqam) - It is an Arabic word used in various meanings and even a term. 1) It meant “place, degree, condition or state” “at that moment Ibrahim Saru entered Isfara fort and setting Baisungar Mirza on the throne became an opposition to us.” [“B”, on folio 30 b].
2) The collection of songs from ancient Turkic folklore. Babur used the word in both meanings. For instance
Bobur, ul gul kuyida bulbul kibi topding maqom,
Bir navoe “Rost” qil mundoq maqoming borida.
Bobur, you got the name nightingale because of a flower,

Babur mentioned in one of his Mathnavis 12 songs included into maqom collection as “Safohon, Navo, Buzurg, Iroq, Rohavi, Rost, Zangula, Ushshoq, Zerafgand, Busalik, Husayniy, Hijoz” and 6 maqomic series as “Moya, Navro’z, Salmak, Gardoniya, Guvoshti, Shahnoz”.

MAQSUD KARK (Eng. Maqsud Kark) – He was one of the bodyguards of Babur. His name was given as “Madsud Gurk” in some issues. There was given an event of his getting the nick name in Baburname “Rhinocero can give butt with horn. During the hunting it gave horn men and people. Once in hunting rhinoceros butt a soldier called Maqsud so he was given a nick name “Maqsud Kark”. [“B”, on folio 276 a].

MAQSUD SHAYZODA (1908-1967) – He was an Asian poet, play write, literary critic and translator, Honourable Man of Art of Uzbekistan (1964), professor, doctor of philological science (1947). He was born in Azarbaijan and graduated Baku University in 1925. He was exiled to Tashkent, Uzbekistan in 1928 by Soviet government where he graduated from the Central Asian State University. He worked as a journalist in printed Mass Media till 1933. After graduating quickly Baku Pedagogical institute he entered post-graduate course of Science Committee of Uzbekistan. He worked as researcher in Institute of Language and literature (1935-1938), teacher in Tashkent Pedagogical Institute (1938-1967). He was the author of several poetic collections and plays “Jaloliddin Manguberdi”(1944), “Mirzo Ulug’bek” (1961) and number of translations. Maqsud Saikhzada wrote the article “Bobur va Navai” (1953) where he outlined the mutual identical features of two great poets, article “Zahiriddin Bobir” where he firstly researched poems by Babur (1940), the article “Zahiriddin Bobir” (1953) where he deeply analyzed the topic.
