Maqsur – see. Qasr. MAQTA – (maqta’) It is a literary term of Arabic origin. It means the last line of ghazal and lyrical poems. Traditionally there should be mentioned the name of the author in Oriental poetry. So, we can identify the author basing on the maqta of poem. O.J. Maqtuf – see. Qatf. Maqtu’ – see. Qatf MAG’FUR DEVON (Eng. Magfir Divan) - It is a name of the chief clerk in Babur’s Divan (Administration) in India. [“B”, on folio 311 b]. MAHAN – It is a name of the village near Isfara. It was mentioned in depiction of events of wars in Samarkand where he gathered his army. O.B. MAHVA (Eng. Butter tree) – It is a name of bush or tree from the family (Sapotaceae). “other one was “makhwa” this tree grows much enough, Indian people built their houses commonly from that tree. It mostly looks like to grape tree.” [“B”, on folio 283 b]. Makhwa tree grows mostly in India and Birma. The fruits of the tree is cherry-like, used to prepare wine, oil and eatable including the its crust. There were mentioned sorts as “Butter tree (Bassia latifolia B.edulis)” and Maduka (Madhuca India) in scientific literatures. K.T. MAHVIY (Eng. Makhwi) – It is a name of a poet contemporary of Alisher Navai. There was given short information about him in the book “Majolisun-nafois”. Babur also cited one of his ghazal in his book “A”. A.A. MAHDI SULTON (Eng. Mahdi Sultan) – It is a name of the royal representative from the dynasty of the Shaibanids. He was the son of Bahtiyar Sultan. Firstly, he served Shaibani-Khan, later in Hisar he separated from him and came to Sultan Mahmud Mirza. In 1495 he entered Babur’s service in Andijan. [“B”, on folio 34 a] But when Babur marched over Samarkand he escaped and went to Baisunghar Mirza, however the royal reputation of Baisunghar Mirza was even lower of others. So, Mahdi Sultan with his brother Hamza Sultan went to desert to palace of Shaibani-Khan. They both participated battles conquering Samarkand and against Babur including, for which brothers were given the province Hisar.
