MASHRABOV Zokirjon Mashrabovich – He is a scientist in geology of Uzbekistan. He was born in 1933 in Andijan region. He earned his first scientific degree in geology and mineralogy in 1960. He is one of the famous scientists who hold researches about Babur and a public figure. He is the founder and the chairman of Babur International Fund, organizer and supporter of lot of international science expeditions on Babur. Z.M.Mashrabovich worked in number of positions on his own specializations between 1965-1978 years. He worked as chairmen of Executive Committee of Andijan city. Municipal between 1978-1985 years; as principal director of science-production of Academy of Science of Uzbekistan between 1985-1992 years. The statue of Babur was erected in Andijan of Uzbekistan for the first time by Mashrabov’s imitative (Andijan, 1983). When there began reconstruction of Baghishamal district of Andiajan city, there was established a recreational park by the initiative of Mashrabov. There have been hold series of scientific practical conferences and public ceremonies in the residence of Babur International Fund built in the center of the same park annually.
Z.M.Mashrabov put the great effort in renovating graves of our compatriots, which lies abroad by several historical reasons. (see also Babur International Expedition). A documentary called “One of the Baburids” was shot and it was dedicated to scientific and public works of Mashroabov. (2013, scripted and screened by M.Yusupova, camera operator – S.Abdullaev, H.Jakbarov, arrangement by M.Ishkhakov). For his immense works on various spheres, he was awarded with number of medals and awards such as Honorable worker of Culture of Uzbekistan (1994), “El-Yurt hurmati” (1998), “Mehnat Shuhrati” (2004), Award of International Babur Fund (2008), Award of Beruni (2016). Besides he was rewarded with foreign awards such as “Alisher Navai” established by the Afghanistan Islamic Republic in 2016.

MASHT – It is a name of the village or settlement near Kabul, just between Sarideh and Sekona. The place was cited in relation to the Babur’s military campaign. [“B”, p.203 a].

MASHTUR – It is a poetic term of Arabic origin. It expresses origin of “murabba” by the reducing the last two syllables of “musamma” of the poem. (see also Murabba’, Majzu’)
MASHHAD (Eng. Meshed) – It is one of the largest cities of Khurasan (Presently center of Khurasan province of Iran). The city was on the top of its fame and popularity from economic and cultural point of view during the reign of Shahrukh, and was honored as “Mashhadi muqaddas”, “Mashhadi Roz”. There was given historic information about Meshed in Baburname For instance, how Sultan Husain appointed his son Haidar Mirza to rule the city in 1505, later appointed Kupuk Mirza in 1507; how army of Shaibani-Khan led by Temur Sultan conquered the city and Abulmuhsin Mirza and Kupuk Mirza were taken to prison and executed.
