MAHMUD KUNDURI SANGAK (Eng. Mahmud Kundur Sanghak) – He was one of the soldiers of Babur. Babur noted that he was very fast [“B”, on folio 40 b]. He participated in surrounding of Samarkand 1497. Some of Babur’s soldiers were taken to prison by tricking including Mahmud Kudur Sanghak and executed, when Babur stood in Hanyurt.

MAHMUD SULTON (Eng. Mahmud Sultan) (1454m Bukhara – 1505, Qunduz) – It is a name of the brother of Shaibani-Khan. He was brought up by his grand-father Abulkhairi-Khan. After the death of Abulkhairi-Khan in 1494, after he had gone through painful experiences with his brother, they conquered Turkistan. When Shaibani-Khan commenced conquering Mawaraunnahr Mahmud Sultan contributed him in this war, for instance in the battle of Saripul in 1500 he stood in the reserve army. After Shaibani-Khan seized Samarkand he set Mahmud Sultan as a ruler of Bukhara in 1501. When Shaibani-Khan conquered provinces Hisar and Qunduz, he set Mahmud Sultan as ruler of Qunduz province where he died later.

MAHMUD G’AZNAVIY (Eng. Mahmud Ghaznawi) – He was the historic person, founder of dynasty of Ghaznawids. Babur cited his name as “Sultan Ghazi” in Baburname He ruled a large territory from the Aral Sea to Rajputana deserts, from the Gange river till the Caspian Sea. He set to the throne in 998 A.D. and ruled the country till 1030. He marched over India nearly every year during his reign. He established a large library in Ghazna city as a poet and scientist. The biographies of famous scholars as Beruni, Firdausi, Ansari and others mainly or partly associated with Mahmud Ghaznavi.
