Sequence of work during hydraulic pressure testing :

  • - clean the pipeline, install plugs, pressure gauges and taps on both open sides of the pipeline;
  • - connect the water supply and hydraulic press;
  • - fill the pipes with water and create the required pressure;
  • - inspect the pipeline being tested and mark defective areas;
  • - reduce pressure, drain water and eliminate defects;
  • - retest;
  • - disconnect the water supply and drain the water from the heating pipeline;
  • - remove pressure gauges and plugs.

The water supply is connected at the bottom of the pipeline. Air valves with pipes are welded in the upper parts. The air valves are closed after water without air comes out of them; all drain valves must be closed.

  • The test pressure is taken to be 1.25 times the working pressure, i.e. Р isp = 1.25 Р slave , but not less than 1.6 MPa for the supply pipeline and 1.2 MPa for the return pipeline.

During preliminary pressure testing , the pressure is raised to the test pressure and maintained for 10 minutes. If no pressure drop is observed, it is reduced to working pressure, the pipeline is inspected, tapping the joints with a hammer weighing 500 g.

  • During final pressure testing , they are held for 15 minutes at test pressure, inspecting all pipelines and equipment. If the pressure drop according to the pressure gauge at operating pressure does not exceed 10% for 2 hours, the heat pipeline is considered sealed .
