Thermal tests - During the operation of heating networks, natural wear and tear and aging of thermal insulation occur, as well as its mechanical damage.
- Thermal tests are carried out to determine the actual heat loss from pipelines, usually at the end of the heating season. Temperatures and coolant flow rates are measured at the beginning and end of the tested line.
- Heat loss in the supply and return pipelines is determined by the formulas
- ,
- Where , – actual specific heat losses by the supply and return heat pipes, kW/m;
- - water flow in the supply pipeline, kg/h;
- – make-up water consumption, kg/h;
- and – respectively, water losses in the supply and return pipelines, kg/h;
- – length of the section, m;
- – respectively, the temperature of the water at the beginning and end of the supply and return heat pipelines, 0 C (keep in mind that the beginning of the return heat pipeline takes place at the end of the supply in the direction of water movement).
Tests for the maximum temperature of the coolant are carried out once every two years at the end of the heating season in order to check the reliability and operation of all elements of the heating network (pipelines, compensators, displacement of network elements in design directions, displacement of supports) at elevated temperatures. - Tests for the maximum temperature of the coolant are carried out once every two years at the end of the heating season in order to check the reliability and operation of all elements of the heating network (pipelines, compensators, displacement of network elements in design directions, displacement of supports) at elevated temperatures.
- The coolant temperature is increased at a rate of 30 0 C/h and maintained for 30 minutes. After inspection, the actual movements of the network elements are compared with the calculated ones and the actual voltages at characteristic points are determined from them. If necessary, appropriate measures are taken to restore normal operation of all elements of the heating network.
