Pressure testing of equipment at heating points and local systems is carried out as follows: the system is filled with water from the water supply system, a manual or electric pressure test press is connected, and operating pressure is created to check the tightness of welded and flanged connections, equipment and fittings. Then the pressure is set to 1.25 above the working pressure and maintained for 5 minutes. When the pressure drop is no more than 20 kPa, the test is considered complete.

Hydraulic tests

  • Hydraulic tests are intended to determine the actual hydraulic characteristics of the heating network, as they change during operation (corrosion, clogging of individual areas, precipitation of hardness salts, etc.). The test is carried out with the heating points turned off, circulation is carried out through jumpers at the ends of the heat pipes, the coolant flow is taken to be maximum. At characteristic points, pressure, temperature and coolant flow are measured using standard pressure gauges, mercury thermometers with a pressure of 1 0 C and measuring diaphragms.

Pressure loss in the test areas is determined by the formula

  • Pressure loss in the test areas is determined by the formula
  • P 1 , P 2 – pressure gauge readings at the beginning and end of the test section, Pa;
  • Z 1 , Z 2 – geodetic marks at the same points, m
  • ρ – coolant density at a given temperature, kg/ m3 .
  • Based on the test results, piezometric graphs are constructed for comparison with the calculated ones and the actual coefficients of friction in pipelines are determined, as well as places where pipelines are clogged are found
