- We’ll

If can be
at the beginning of a sentence or
in the middle.
If at the beginning:

If you don’t hurry, you’ll miss the train.
•
If a criminal is very careful, he may not leave any fingerprints.

If you

If in the middle:
• You’ll miss the train
if you don’t hurry.
• A criminal may not leave
any fingerprints if he is very careful.

In
conversation, we often use

part of the sentence alone:

if, we use the present (
not ‘will’):
