This addresses the different theories involved with the implementation of modern technology and teaching-learning mathematics, as well as the computational tools available and their implementations. This experiment was successfully completed and tested on a group of students from' Lower six' after much research work. The use of technology in mathematics teaching would inspire students to enjoy the subject, thereby encouraging them to work harder, achieve a better understanding of concepts, strengthen their instinct, logical thinking and problem-solving skills, and increase their overall performance in the subject matter. The study "Language and Communication in Mathematics Education" covers a wide range of areas of interest, ranging from the problem of what constitutes "language" in mathematics, through the analysis of communicative experiences in mathematics classrooms and the study of issues related to teaching and learning mathematics in multilingual environments (Craig et al. 2015). The Ontario Curriculum for Grade 9 and 10 Mathematics (2005) specified that teachers should encourage their students “to select and use the technology that would best support and communicate their learning”. The communication of mathematical ideas will help students to clarify and strengthen their understanding of mathematics. By sharing their mathematical understanding with their classmates, teachers, and parents in both written and verbal form, students gain self-confidence as mathematics learners and enable teachers to better track their progress. Communication plays a significant role in making mathematics meaningful; it allows students to build connections between their informal, intuitive notions and mathematics ' abstract language and symbolism. It also plays a key role in helping the students make critical links between mathematical ideas ' physical, pictorial, graphic, symbolic, verbal, and mental representations, through these they start to understand the power of mathematics. |
