Present Simple Past Simple

Past Simple esa bizga o’tgan zamon haqida gapiradi. He lost his key degani, bu gapiruvchi qachondir kalitini yo’qotdi. Lekin kalit hozir bor yoki yo’qligi noma’lum.Chunki Past Simple hozirgi paytga aloqasi bo’lamaydi.

He grew a beard but now he has shaved it.

Prices fell but now they have risen again.
b) Tarixiy voqealar haqida gapirilganda, umuman, tarixga tegishli ish-harakat haqida gapirilaganda faqat Past Simple ishlatiladi.
e.g. Shakespeare wrote Hamlet

c) Present Perfect yangi ma’lumotni berishda va oxirgi sodir bo’lgan voqealarni e’lon qilishda ishlatiladi. Lekin o’sha gapni davom ettirishda Past Simple ishlatiladi.

e.g. Oh, I’ve burnt myself!

How did you do that? (How have you done emas)

I touched a hot dish.

Look, somebody has spilt milk on the carpet.

Well, it wasn’t me. I didn’t do it.
d) Ish-harakatning qachon sodir bo’laganligi haqida gapirilganda va so’ralganda faqat Past Simple ishlatiladi.

When were you born?

I was born in 1986.

Present Perfect	Past simple
I’ve smoked 20 cigarettes today. ( today –bu hozirgacha davom etayotgan davr. Ko’rsatilgan vaqt hali tugamadi. Present Perfect doim hozirgi zamon bilan bog’liq bo’ladi. Tom hasn’t been ill this year. Have you seen Ann this morning? (hali ham kunning ertalabki qismi). I have lived in London for six years. ( hali ham yashayapman)	I smoked 20 cigarettes yesterday. ( yesterday-bu otib ketgan vaqt, unda bajarilgan harakat o’tmishda qolib ketdi). Tom wasn’t ill last year. Did you see Ann this morning? (kunning ertalabki qismi allaqachon o’tib ketdi, yani hozir tushlik vaqti) I lived in London for six years. (endi bu yerda yashamayapman)
