Database Project 1 

(Local Not-For-Profit) 

 

Goal:  To  develop  a  database  system  that  would  track  services  used 

by  clients  in  a  more  efficient  manner  than  the  manual  systems 

previously in use. 

 

Key  Data:  manual  data  on  individuals  using  the  service,  nature  and 

scope of services required, and dates of use  

 

Biggest  Challenge:  Accommodating  a  change  in  scope  mid-way 

through  systems  design  that  refocused  the  main  goal  away  from 

tracking  funding  and  toward  tracking  services  used  by  clients.    This 

was  exacerbated  by  the  fact  that  much  of  the  data  needed  for  the 

system was in manual form
