1. Introduction
The scientific literature and activities on traffic arrangement, planning and management represent many different technologies, methods and tools which are used to assess the traffic in city SRNs. As a result of analysis of papers by both foreign and domestic authors, several theses can be emphasized: cities road network is a complicated and complex structure and as a consequence it requires a single integrated approach in matters of both operational and strategic management; assessment of the traffic quality level is an important component of the traffic flows operational management; * Corresponding author. Thirteenth International Conference on Organization and Traffic Safety Management in Large Cities (SPbOTSIC 2018) Improving the system of traffic management at crossings Denis Lomakin, Evgenii Fabrichnyi, Alexander Novikov* Orel State University named after I.S. Turgenev, 95 Komsomolskaya St., Orel, 302026, Russia Abstract Among the tasks for traffic arrangement, planning and management one of the most urgent tasks is the problem of assessing the influence of various factors on the feature to be studied. The paper analyzes the factors influencing the traffic flow, and information cycle between the strategic, planned and operational level of traffic management. The approach to the solution of the problem proposed in the paper using the correlation-regression analysis method combined with the use of geoinformation databases allows to determine a queue size at the crossings of the city street-and-road network (SRN) with its subsequent application in the operational management of the city traffic. © 2018 The Authors.
