In general, it can be seen that there will be noticeable upward trends in the number of all given language learners. Another interesting point is that English will keep its domineering position till the end of the period.

Looking at details in terms of English, it is predicted that about 550 million students will learn English in 2020, which will be followed by a moderate growth to 700 millions in four years. Although the number of the English language learners will decrease minimally to just over 600 millions in 2026, the index is estimated to climb markedly to approximately 150 million learners at the end of the period.

Turning to Spanish and Mandarin, according to predictions, just above 200 million people will study Spanish, whilst the indicator of Mandarin will stand at 100 millions in 2020. It is interesting to note that not only Spanish, but also Mandarin will be learnt by 300 million students in 2024. Finally, the figures for the former will almost double in 6 years, while the latter will undergo a considerable rise by 200 million learners.
