MAIN ONFORMATION. 2020 has been a test year for the peoples of the world, including
Uzbekistan. During the coronavirus pandemic, which has become a global problem, a wide range of measures have been taken by the governments of the countries. On March 11 last year, the World Health Organization declared the spread of a new coronavirus infection, COVID-19, a pandemic. №4 | 2021 17 In the condition of the spread of coronavirus infection around the world in Uzbekistan, there was an increase in the consciousness of citizens in the country, the consolidation of society around the problem of the spread of coronavirus infection, an increased desire to help sick and materially needy people, participation in solving socio-economic problems caused by problems and complications that wide sections of the population feel. Special mention should be made of the activities of the Sponsorship Coordination Centers established by the decision of the Republican Special Commission during the pandemic. The short number of the call center 1197 worked at the headquarters of the centers to receive citizens' appeals. A total of 790,071 kg of onions, 1,806,902 kg of flour, 887,429 liters of oil, 1,351,823 kg of potatoes, 804,909 kg of rice, 765,801 kg of pasta, 712,698 kg of carrots, 571,725 kg of sugar, 103,772 hens, 120,750 kg of meat, 442,268 grated eggs, 58,188 kg of pulses, 94,448 kg of tea, as well as 550,848 pieces of medical masks, 137,950 pieces of medical gloves, 98,672 pieces of antiseptics, 184,000 pieces of hygienic means (soap, toothpaste, etc.) and 451,567 other products were donated by sponsors during the activities of the centers. In the days of the pandemic crisis in our country, the values of our people, such as unity in the fight against this illness, immediate assistance to the sick, kindness, solidarity, gratitude in difficult times, were clearly reflected in the formation of the national movement “Sahovat and Kumak”(“Generosity and Support”) [13]. In a relatively short period of time, the “Sahovat and Kumak” (“Generosity and Support”) Fund received 194 billion 625 million soums. So far, more than 118 billion 995 million soums have been spent on 300,383 families. In particular, more than 48 billion soums were spent on daily food, medicine and other items. 67,296 families received 71 billion 110 million soums in cash. In addition, Alisher Usmanov allocated 5 mln. 19,009 people in need of social protection, formed by the khokimiyats of Andijan, Namangan, Tashkent regions and the city of Tashkent, were transferred to plastic cards in the amount of 2,500,000 soums [14]. In order to pay special attention to the situation of low-income families, the necessary measures have been taken to provide 30,000 needy families with food and medicine for the autumn- winter period at the expense of the “Sahovat and Kumak” (“Generosity and Support”) Fund [15]. In general, $ 6.1 billion was allocated in Uzbekistan to support the population during the pandemic [16]. It should be noted that during the quarantine period, along with the recognition of charitable activities provided by sponsoring organizations and centers, the qualities of our citizens, such as humanity, kindness, compassion, were clearly demonstrated. During the pandemic, volunteers carried out charitable activities such as providing free transportation services to the elderly people through @mytaxisavob (https://t.me/mytaxisavob) and @mytaxi_hayriya_bot, created on the initiative of citizens [17]. During the quarantine, Telegram launched the “Yaqinlar” bot (“Relatives”) to help those in need. The bot serves as a service platform for those in need and those willing to help. It allows you to send a request for help or find people within a radius of several kilometers who need food and medicine. According to the initiator of the project, the bot was not launched on behalf of the state or any charity organization, and only ordinary people took part in the process [18]. An initiative group of public figures and entrepreneurs launched the “Breathe, Uzbekistan” movement, promoting the initiative to provide oxygen concentrators to people with coronavirus[19]. An example of readiness to help those who find themselves in a difficult situation is the “Beminnat Khizmat”(“Service without demanding gratitude”) campaign, which started last summer. In a short time, the volunteers managed to restore breathing with the help of oxygen concentrators in 27 people; |
