18 delivered food products provided by sponsors to 51 Veterans; food products obtained through the callcenter were distributed to 225 families; Thanks to sponsorship, a lunch was organized 3 times a week for 50 doctors working in an infectious diseases’ hospital in Zangiata district, where coronavirus patients were treated. As part of this action, a group of at least 10-15 people fought for the life of one person. These are volunteer doctors, volunteer guys in their own cars, helping with the transportation of hubs, call- center operators, sponsors who provided the necessary equipment and special clothing, and the entire huge working group of the organizers of the “Beminnat Khizmat” movement! These are people with huge hearts, whose eyes are burning, their blood boils. They do not get tired of helping, they are heroes of our time, because their work is paid not by money, but by the smiles of people who begin to breathe thanks to them. This example was followed by others, in many regions of the country similar volunteer movements began to appear [20]. Another example of empathy is the initiative of the students of Inha University in Tashkent, who developed the Birdamlik project, which made it possible to coordinate the volunteer movement, establish effective communication between volunteers and those in need, and provide targeted assistance to citizens. The website also provided statistics showing the number of applications submitted, volunteers involved, volunteer groups created. An indicator of the effectiveness of this project is that in just a few days, it has already begun to bear fruit, within the framework of the project 6 applications were received, 43 volunteers were registered and five volunteer groups were created [21]. Or another example, when one of the districts of the city of Tashkent announced the start of the “Hands of Mercy” charity action. The goal is to support and preserve the lives of people without a definite place of residence and those who, by the will of fate, remained on the street and especially need help on cold winter days. To participate in the action, it was required very little from each not indifferent resident, to send to @mirobodhokimiyati_bot a photo and the location of a person, without a specific place of residence or by coincidence, stayed on the street and in need of help, after which this person was provided with assistance for temporary housing and food [22]. It should be noted that during the pandemic, Uzbeks showed human qualities not only in the country, but also abroad, feeling the pain of others as their own. For example, in the city Tomsk in Russia, representatives of the Uzbek diaspora prepared pilaf for the staff of hospitals specializing in the treatment of coronavirus patients and distributed it to 11 hospitals in the city. After the Uzbek volunteers from Tomsk, representatives of the diaspora in Omsk and Kemerovo also began to host medical staff for lunch [23]. The only thing that can be learned from this heap of social and economic upheavals is the cohesion of the people, which is united not by language, traditions and nationality, but by humanity. Now the pain and fear of people living hundreds of kilometers away seem to be their own [24]. The Sardobin tragedy became an indicator of the fantastic solidarity of the people in the face of the disaster We can say that the spring of 2020 was difficult for Uzbekistan. The coronavirus pandemic, the roofs torn off by the storm in the Bukhara region and, finally, the Sardoba tragedy. It was as if we were paying for a peaceful past in which we watched other people's disasters from our television screens. In those tragic days, the epicenter, where the tragedy occurred, could not accept the entire volume of incoming aid. There was simply not enough space. Witnesses said that one day before sending the cargo to Syrdarya, a pensioner wanted to help, who at the expense of a small pension brought four loaves of bread to help the Sardoba people. The tragedy did not allow her to remain indifferent, no matter how difficult her personal situation was. This example shows that an individual with wide empathy actually discovers a desire to give, to do good, to be as useful as possible in any situation. |
