методы стерилизации

Gas sterilization

  • The sterilizing agent is formaldehyde or ethylene oxide.
  • Packaging: laminate paper , parchment, kraft paper.
  • Materials: polymers, glass, metal.
  • Advantages: low temperature, use of any materials.
  • Disadvantages: toxicity to personnel and explosion hazard if safety precautions are not followed, long sterilization cycle.

Radiation method

necessary for sterilization of products made from thermolabile materials.

Sterilizing agent – ionizing γ and β radiation.

Packaging: in addition to paper bags, polyethylene bags are used.
Advantages: sterility in the packaging is maintained for a long time.
Disadvantages: the method is expensive.
Radiation is the main method of industrial sterilization. Used by enterprises producing sterile disposable products.

Bacterial filtration

  • The method consists of separating microorganisms from the liquid using sterile microporous filters. The filtration mechanism is explained mainly by the adsorption of microbes occurring in the pores of the filter materials, which in most cases are negatively charged. Kaolin, porcelain, paper-asbestos pulp, infusor soil, collodion and other porous materials, as well as glass are used as microporous filter materials.
  • Microporous filters are widely used in chemical and pharmaceutical plants and in the production of vaccines and serums.

Boiling

  • One time heating
  • up to a temperature of 100 0 C.

Tyndalization -

  • sterilization method proposed by J. Tyndall .
  • It consists of fractional heating of liquids (usually for 1 hour) from three to five times at intervals of 24 hours. During this time, bacterial spores that survived at 100 ° C germinate, and the vegetative bacterial cells that emerged from them die during subsequent heating.

Pasteurization

Heat treatment :

  • at a temperature of 65 0 C for 30 minutes,
  • 75 0 C 15-40 seconds,
  • 85 0 C 8-10 seconds.
  • When milk is pasteurized, almost all pathogenic microorganisms die, but heat-resistant lactic acid microorganisms remain
