Abstract. Ensuring the protection of agricultural plants from pests, diseases and weeds in our
republic, preventing the harmful effects of plant protection products
on human health and the
environment are among the most important issues. This article describes in detail the resistance of
cotton (Sultan variety) to herbicides (galaxifop-P-methyl), as well as the negative and positive effects
of herbicides on seedlings. The study was carried out using various concentrations of herbicides and
analyzed the individual morphological characteristics of plant seedlings at each concentration. The
experiments were carried out in laboratory and field conditions.
In the experiment, five types of
concentrations of the herbicide galaxifop-p-methyl
were selected, for each concentration 30 cotton
seeds were sown and 8 morphological characteristics of a 50 day old seedling were analyzed (total
length, number of side branches, number of shoots on the main branch, number of shoots on a lateral
branch , the total number of shoots, the number of leaves on the main branch, the number of leaves on
the side branch, the total number of leaves) and entered in the table. The statistical data on the change
in the morphological characteristics of seedlings by the concentration of herbicides were studied and
are presented in the tables. We have observed that in laboratory condition
cotton is sensitive to
herbicide concentrations in the Sultan variety, while the alternative concentration is important for the
Sultan variety. It was found that this concentration has a positive effect on reducing the harmful
effects on vegetation and the environment.
