2.London and theatre career
It is unclear exactly when Shakespeare began writing plays, as well as moving to London, but the first sources that have come down to us date this to 1592. This year, The Diary of entrepreneur Philip Henslow mentions Shakespeare's historical chronicle "Henry VI", which was performed at Henslow's Rose Theater. the (English)Russian, in the same year, published after the death of the playwright and prose writer Robert Green, where Shakespeare, without saying his last name, 5 attacked Shakespeare In Anger, but ironically beat him - "stage vibration" (stage vibration) from the third part of "Henry VI" "Oh, this is the heart of a tiger in a woman's skin! Like" the heart of a tiger on the skin of a hypocrite." Scholars cannot agree on the exact meaning of these words, but it is generally accepted that Green accused Shakespeare of trying to match Christopher Marlowe, Thomas Nashe, and Green's own high-education writers (“University minds”). According to biographers, Shakespeare's career could have begun at any time from the mid-1580s onwards. From 1594 Shakespeare's plays were performed only by a team of servants of Lord Chamberlain. This troupe included Shakespeare in late 1594. The troupe soon became one of London's leading theatre communities. After the death of Queen Elizabeth in 1603, the troupe received a royal patent from the new ruler James I and became known as “the King's servants”. In 1599, the collaboration of the band members built a new theatre, the "Globus", on the South Bank of the Thames. In 1608 they also bought the closed Blackfriars Theatre. (English)Russian, accounts of Shakespeare's real estate purchases and investments show that the troupe turned him into a wealthy man. In 1597, he purchased the second largest house in Stratford, new place. (English)Russian, Some of Shakespeare's plays were published by in-quarto in 1594. In 1598, his name began to appear on the title pages of publications. But even after Shakespeare became famous as a playwright, he continued to play in theaters. In the 1616 edition of Ben Jonson's works, Shakespeare's name is included in the list of actors who performed the plays "everyone has whims" (1598) and "the fall of Seyanus" (1603). However, his name did not appear in Johnson's production of "Volpone". 1605, 6 which is regarded by some scholars as a sign that Shakespeare's career in London was over. Nevertheless, in the" First folio "of 1623, Shakespeare is referred to as" the chief actor of all these productions", and some of them were first staged after Volpone, although it is not known exactly what roles Shakespeare played in them. In 1610, John Davies wrote that "Good Will" played "royal" roles. In 1709, Rowe wrote in his work the then-formed opinion that Shakespeare played the shadow of Hamlet's father. He was later claimed to have played human roles in "as you like it" and "Hora" in" Henry V", although scholars doubt the reliability of this information. Shakespeare lived in London during his time as an actor and playwright, but spent part of his time in Stratford. In 1596, a year after the new site was purchased, he took up residence at St Helena's church, Bishopgate. (English)Russian., On the north side of the Thames. After the construction of the Globe Theatre in 1599, Shakespeare moved across the river - to Southwark, where the theatre was located. In 1604, he moved downriver again, this time to the area north of St. Paul's cathedral, where there were many good houses. She rented rooms from a French Huguenot named Christopher Maunjoy, a manufacturer of women's wigs and headgear. Download 474.36 Kb. Do'stlaringiz bilan baham: |
