Examples of diachronic approaches

The 1600s saw a decline in the use of the pronouns "thee" and "thou," as people had more options to move up or down social classes. Thee and thou in English were abandoned because people would employ the formal pronoun you to be safely courteous when they didn't know the social status of the person they were addressing. Such a view would be diachronic. Synchronic description is a description of the terms and their usage at the period in comparison to the pronoun you.
The examination of language at a single moment in time, or synchronic linguistics, now typically comes before the study in terms of diachronic linguistics since it is vital to understand how a system functions at any one time before one can hope to understand changes. (Paul Georg Meyer and others, 2005, Gunter Nar Verlag).
The adverb now has a consonant cluster. The root does not appear in words on its own. The Estonian verb kastma, which means "to water, to wet," is derived from the uncommon dialectal word kasi, which means "dampness in soil (in spring); dew" with a causative-factitive suffix.
What was the chain of events and facts, and what were the key players, that led from the Second Triumvirate's establishment to its breakup and, among other things, Antony's loss at Actium by Octavian? Analyzing this diachronically is necessary.

A diachronic perspective on phraseology may offer us the solution to comprehend the nature of the phenomenon, helping to construct the field as a whole. Mark Aronoff contends that Saussure upended a 19th-century tradition of evolutionary explanation in linguistics by rooting linguistic theory in synchronic conditions as opposed to diachrony.
Eugenio Coşeriu introduced the terms diatopic, diastratic, and diaphasic to express linguistic variation in 1970, revisiting De Saussure's distinction between synchrony and diachrony in the explanation of language.

The Indo-European family, for instance, is divided into subfamilies known as Germanic or Celtic, which include the languages German, English, Dutch, Swedish, Norwegian, Danish, and others on the one hand, and Irish, Welsh, Breton, and others on the other. Most languages in the world have only been provisionally categorized into families up to this point, and as more research is done, it's likely that many of the proposed classificatory schemes may undergo significant revisions.
