I. INTRADUCTION
The relevance of the research on the topic of this work is due to the fact that an important part of the life of any society are social contacts, both internal and external. As a result of communication and exchange of information there is a borrowing of ideas, concepts, objects, which invariably entails the creation or borrowing of their lexical designations - the appearance of foreign words. Borrowing is one of the essential characteristics of modern linguistic processes and in this sense is subject, along with other linguistic phenomena, to close study. Such scientists as O.K. Kazkenova, L.P. Krysin, E.V. Marinova, R.P. Abdina, N.N. Amosova and others, on whose works in the field of language contacts, certainly, it is necessary to lean when analyzing the given theme, were engaged in the question of foreign-language borrowings.
The study of foreign-language impregnations is very relevant today, because in recent decades foreign-language borrowings in English, particularly in media texts, have become more widespread. Moreover, the issues of intercultural contacts and their reflection in the language are among the most debated ones today.
The emergence of new information technologies, the globalization of the information space, and the rapid development of the media in the second half of the twentieth century have led to the fact that Englishn and foreign linguists in their works are increasingly analyzing the functioning of language in mass communication and are interested in various aspects of language use in the media. In the course of research, the obtained knowledge is formalized in a new direction - media linguistics, which offers a systematic and comprehensive approach to the study of media language.
The social need to learn foreign languages is strengthened by the internationalization of social life, which, in turn, has developed under the influence of the scientific and technological revolution. Today, the trend toward language unification, that is, the trend toward the displacement of accents or languages, is developing at a rapid pace.
We should think that today the most pressing problem in the field of translation is the translation of international vocabulary. True, this problem is still poorly understood. Even a professional translator can face several difficulties when translating media texts of different orientation. One should be wary of endless pseudo-internationalisms, which are often found in media texts. Incorrect use of pseudo-internationalisms can even distort the meaning of the entire text. Also the difficulty arises in the selection of a suitable equivalent to a given word.
The object of research within the framework of the topic of this work are the texts of the English-language press.
The subject of the study - international words in the texts of the English-language press.
The aim of the research within the framework of the topic of this work is the analysis of the peculiarities of functioning of international words in the texts of the English language press. To achieve this goal it is necessary to solve the following tasks:
- to give the concept and characterize the essence of international words;
- to reveal the peculiarities of international words functioning in English;
- to consider the linguistic peculiarities of English-language press discourse;
- to analyze the peculiarities of the use of international words in the English-language press.
To solve the set tasks a complex of interacting and complementary research methods was used: methods of theoretical analysis of the literature, formal-logical method, the method of continuous sampling, as well as the method of generalizations.
The scientific novelty of the research lies in the fact that it expands the scientific understanding of international words found in the texts of the English-language press.
The practical significance of the research on the topic of this work lies in the fact that the results of the research on the topic of this work can be used in the process of teaching such disciplines as "Linguoculturology", "Media Linguistics", as well as "Translation Theory and Practice".
