A worthwhile job for the 9th form

Process of teaching

Method: Brainstorm, “Diamond” training “What’s important?’
Form: lesson in groups
Procedure: cards, papers and stick, and a tape recorder
Control: orally
Evaluation: Encouraging pupil’s and group’s progress

Result

Teacher-
Raises pp awareness about the most popular professions in the world and practice giving reasons, develops their thinking abilities, creates a friendly atmosphere in class.
Pupil -
Knows some qualities they need for their future professions and practices writing qualities pp need for some jobs, learns to express his/her feelings and reasons for them, knows what’s important for him/her, tries to be more active and responsible in doing tasks, consolidates his/her language on English

Plans for future

Teacher -
will consolidate her essential skills, exchange her opinions in teaching with other teachers, learn and use more new tools, methods of teaching during her lessons
Pupil -
will be able to work in groups, learn to be responsible, concentrate and allow others to learn, think and act creatively with imagination, ask many questions and argue logically, understand the feelings of others.

Training “What’s important?” Time – 10min
Let’s divide into 2 little groups. Each group will get cards, paper and stick.
Your task is to look through the cards and choose 9 sentences which are important for being an ideal doctor. Second group will choose 9 sentences which are important for being an ideal teacher. There are more than 9 cards. Members of the groups should work and discuss together.

After choosing the nine important abilities, they should form the line of rhombus with the help of those cards.


The most important one they should place at the top of rhombus, then very important two abilities, then a bit important three abilities, then more important two abilities and at the bottom they should place the less important one. Time 10 min
