Conclusion
Meaning is one of the most controversial terms in the theory of language. At first side the understanding of this term seems to present no difficulty at all – it is freely used in teaching, interpreting and translation. The scientific definition of meaning however just as the definition of some other basic linguistic terms, such as word, sentence, etc. has been the issue of interminable discussions. Since there is no universally accepted definition of meaning we shall confine ourselves to a brief survey of the problem as it viewed in modern linguistics both in our country and elsewhere.
Attempts to study the inner structure of the vocabulary revealed that in spite of its heterogeneity the English word-stock may be analyzed into numerous sub-systems the members of which have some futures in common, thus distinguishing them from the members of other lexical sub-systems. Words can be classified in various ways. Here, however, we are concerned only with the semantic classification of words. Classification into monosemantic and polysemantic words is based on the number of meanings the word possesses. More detailed semantic classifications are generally based on semantic similarity (or polarity) of words of their component morphemes. The scope and the degree of similarity (polarity) may be different.
It is the coordination of the language means and stylistic devices which shapes the distinctive features of each style and not the language means of stylistic devices themselves. Each style, however, can be recognized by one or more leading features which are especially conspicuous. For instance, the use of special terminology is a lexical characteristics of the style of scientific prose, and one by which it can easily be recognized. In other words this style is peculiar with specific terminology, most of which are usually used in this style only. Analyzing the items of clothing with sound such words that a person is hardly to use of not he is in this sphere or reads an information which possesses them. Most of these words have already become international and changes are in a slightest way keeping the original structure of the words. As it is well known, items of clothing are one of the most interesting and at the same time difficult field of study. It has lately been developed to a greater extent. As the results of our analysis showed only few of these words have several meanings and are usually used in a related sphere only.
The translations of words related to this field from English into Uzbek seemed an easy work for some period because of some international words.
But later we found such words that we can not find usually in little dictionaries.
Though it was a backbreaking work, we found all the interesting features of these words which made us feel relaxed to the end of our analysis. Most of words related to items of clothing derived into Uzbek through Russian, so we found that they ca be an object of further studies.
