Bus bay stop setting along isolation area for non-motor vehicle and motor vehicle Such bus stops provide a certain independent space for bus stopping in order to release the interaction between the buses and motor vehicle in time of bus stopping in addition to entering or leaving the station. Furthermore, the special design for bus bay stops compresses the width of non-motor vehicle lane, reducing the driving space for non-motor vehicle. As Fig. 9 shown that the main factors of traffic safety come from the following two aspects: (i) Conflict between passengers and non-motor vehicles Depression style of the station, designed for reducing the effect on motor vehicles during buses stopping which compresses the width of non-motor vehicle lane makes the driving space for non-motor vehicle narrow, increasing the non-motor vehicle flow and reducing the non-motor vehicle speed. Some passengers conflict with motor vehicles and non-motor vehicles while crossing the road, bring the hidden danger of traffic security. (ii) Conflict between motor vehicles, non-motor vehicles and buses Parking zone is set up separately on the road which doesn’t have an effect on the normal driving, but buses crosses the motor vehicle lane and non-motor vehicle lane when buses entering and leaving the station result that non-motor vehicles, motor vehicles and buses traffic are interactive, causing conflict.
