Bus Stop Types 
2.1.
  Linear bus stops 
As a traditional layout of bus stops which is widely applied in our country, 
linear bus stops set bus parking space on the motor vehicle lane or directly on 
the non-motor vehicle lane. It is generally used in the road which has limited 
conditions or low grade. 
2.1.1. Settings along isolation area for non-motor vehicle and motor 
vehicle
The outside motor vehicle lane is occupied with the process of bus stopping, 
which makes the following cars change the lane to the inside motor vehicle lane 
and influences the traffic consequently. As shown in Fig. 1. 
2.1.2. Settings along sidewalks 
It has a serious impact on the traffic stream of non-motor vehicle while buses is 
stopping and it is usually established on the double amplitude road or four 
amplitude road which has poor road conditions without isolation area for 
non-motor vehicle and motor vehicle. As shown in Fig. 2. 
2.2.
  Bus bay stops 
Broadening the width of local road for bus stops in order to setting parking 
space outside from the normal operation of traffic low when considering layout 
of bus bay stops. It has high request to the road conditions, occupying the space 
of non-motor lane or sidewalk.

2.2.1. Set along isolation area for non-motor vehicle and motor vehicle 
Buses won’t have interaction with motor vehicle traffic when they stopped until 
they enter or leave the station. As shown in Fig. 3. 
2.2.2. Set along sidewalk 
There is no interaction between buses non-motor vehicle and motor vehicle 
when buses stopped, the interaction only happened during vehicles enter or 
leave the station. As shown in Fig. 4.
