  To improve the students’ knowledge about the difference between compare and contrast.

The beginning of the lesson

Ask the students the following questions:

   Are there any differences between compare and contrast?
   
2. 
   What kind of differences are they?
   

Warm up activity (5 min): Similarities and differences
Procedure:
Define and write four differences and four similarities of these two cars. Write about eight sentences.

While-stage (30 min)
Working with handouts (15 min)
Procedure:
Distribute handouts about compare and contrast paragraph writing (compare and contrast structures and paragraph organizations) and discuss them with learners. In the process of discussing do the exercises given after the explanations.
