2. Let`s play the game

Friendly Square” Let us work in threes in groups , in this game everybody must take part , there are 12 papers , you must make up questions and ansvers about our previos lesson. Every paper must cut into three parts you must find their parts correctly. You must make squares at the blackboard ,read your questions and answer the questions.

What was your homework.? Our homework wIll be asked with the game “Missing words”. Every student reads and fill in the gaps and translatethe tekst.


The Origin …the Olympic Games. The Origin of the Olympic Games … in Greece. The first games … in Olympia .During the five days there were … competitions.and competitions in … and …. The Original Olympics Games were only for men..In those days the games took place every …years.
Look at the picture.
What is your favourite sport from the point of view of the picture?
There are ten pictures of different sports on the blackboard, teacher asks pupils to look at them and tell their names. Children try to guess what types of sports are on the blackboard. Then teacher asks them:
1. What is your hobby?
2. Have you ever played volleyball?
3. Have you ever watched the Olympic Games?
4. Have you ever been to any Football match?

3 Introducing new theme : Olympic Symbols. Teacher asks children if they knew the meaning of the word “Symbols”:
What does it mean “ Symbol”?
Children, do you know, what is the Symbol of Olympics in general?
(Have you ever seen Olympic Symbols on TV?)
Would you like to watch Olympic Symbols on the Monitor??
(Children try to answer the questions)
Then teacher puts new sentences on the blackboard associated with symbols using cards: New words will be explained from the Context Style The pupils read the sentences and find the meaning of the sentences from the context.
The Olympic Games have their a) FLAG and b) MOTTO.The Flag is white with c) FIVE CIRCLES.The circles represent d) THE FIVE CONTINENTS of e) AFRICA, ASIA, AUSTRALIA, EUROPE, NORTH AND SOUTH AMERICA. The motto of the Olympics is f) FASTER, HIGHER, STRONGER. g) OPENING CEREMONY lighting of the h)OLYMPIC FLAME. Runners carries I) A TORCH to the stadium from the Olympia. Children read these sentences and try to guess the meaning of the sentences, repeat the words after teacher and then they put down unknown words into their vocabularies.
Look at the monitor, there are some slides about the Olympic Symbols.
Let`s play “ JigSaw” game (Nozik Arra) In this game groups with five students are set up.Each group member is assigned some unique material to learn and then to teach to his group members.To help in the learning students across the class working on the same sub -section get together to decide what is important and how to teach it. Afer practice in these “expert” groups the original groups reform and students teach each other. The text is about “Olympic Symbols”. The best pupils of five read the text carefully and write the texts with their translation one to one.Every best pupil must write and translate one of the sentences of the text.After learning new materials ,five of them go to the other group and teach them the text which they learned before in detail like the tooth of one Saw.After working of fifth , pupils who is learning new materials come to the blackboard and retell about the text and write down into the JIGSAW, if he speaks about the flag of The Olympic Symbols ,he will write the word FlAG into the gaps of Jigsaw,after writing all informations about the Olympic Symbols , the pupils who is learning new material do presentation about the Olympic Symbols looking into the JIGSAW of the lesson
.For example :1. The Olympic Games have their own flag and motto.
2.The motto of Olympic games are “citius, altius,forties”.
3.The flag is white with five circles.
4. The circles represent five continents Africa, Asia ,Australia,Europe, North and South America.
