ORIGIN OF CHOCOLATE

  • The history of chocolate begins its 4000 years of history in ancient Mexico and it’s here that the first cacao plants, the plant which chocolate is made from, were found. Chocolate became very popular in the wider world, and its demand exploded. But chocolate as it’s enjoyed today is quite different from when it first arrived.
  • Chocolate has since become a popular food product that million enjoy every day, thanks to its unique, rich, and sweet taste.

Outwards of chocolate

  • Weight gain:Some studies suggest that chocolate consumption is linked to lower boy mass indx and central body fat. However, chocolate can have a high colorie count due to its sugar and fat content. Anyone who is trying to slim down or maintain their weight should limit their chocolate consumption and check the label of their favorite product.
  • Sugar content: the high sugar content of most chocolate can also be a cause of tooth decay.

Benefits of chocolate

  • It may help improve your memory as you get older.
  • Researches has shown that when elderly people were given specially prepared cocoa extracts which was high in flavanols, their cognitive function grealy improved
  • It may make you better at match.
  • It may help to lower blood pressure, reduce the risk of clotting and increase blood circulation to the heart

The process of making chocolate

White chocolate is not really chocolate

  • White chocolate is a typically made of sugar, milk, and cocoa butter. It is white colored, and lacks many of the compounds found in milk and dark chocolates.
  • In 1937, the white chocolate Galak was launched in Europe by the Swiss company Nestlé. Other companies developed their own formulas, such as that developed by Kuno Baedeker for the Merckens Chocolate Company in 1945
  • From about 1948 until the 1990s, Nestlé produced a white chocolate bar with almond pieces, Alpine White, for markets in the United States and Canada
