CONCLUSIONS ON THE THIRD CHAPTER
The linguistic approach to the study of the category of space is associated with the processes of understanding the spatial coordinates of the real world by means of a given language, identifying grammatical and lexical ways that are used to express spatial concepts. The set of values represented in the language forms a conceptual category of space or a semantic category. The circle of spatial values with appropriate means of expression forms a functional and semantic field. In this chapter, the issues that reveal the concept and content of spatial relations in the Russian, English, and Uzbek language worldviews were considered; a comparative analysis of morphological and syntactic means that express spatial relations and ways to denote them in different languages was presented; a universal conceptual category of space was analyzed from the point of view of such a parameter as length; the semantic structure of basic language units, which denote distance in terms of actual length, in Russian, English and Uzbek is characterized in a comparative aspect. The analysis of lexicographic sources made it possible to determine the category of space in the compared languages; to identify word-forming features of vocabulary with spatial meaning and ways of its formation. Having considered some theoretical provisions, we came to the conclusion that in the studies of prepositions and postpositions, the so-called "prototypes" play a significant role, as well as the predicative feature of the localized object, movement, state, and movement. Also important are the ways to express the locative relationship between the localized object and the landmark, as well as dynamic and static features, taking into account the landmark's framework. The main means of expressing spatial meanings in Russian are adverbs, nouns, verbs, prepositions, in English are prepositions, adverbs and postpositions, in Uzbek this means is a whole complex of grammatical means. In English, in addition to the traditional prepositions and adverbs for the language, the article is often used to denote the spatial meaning with subject names. Its absence leads to deconcretization of the value. Also note that in the Uzbek language postpositions are similar in function to case affixes. Consistent with names in a certain case form, postpositions form a spatial meaning. Thus, various spatial characteristics can find expression in other language units, because the category of space, as determining the life activity of the subject, finds expression in different-level language tools. In our opinion, a detailed consistent analysis of these tools in a particular language from the standpoint of linguoculturology, linguocognitology will allow us to take a new look at the peculiarities of the national character and mentality of a representative of a particular culture.
