It is often argued that young people can stand a better chance of finding a 

more  rewarding  job  if  they  further  their  education  after  university                  

graduation  rather  than  start  working  to  gain  experience.  I  completely                    

disagree  with  this  viewpoint.  I  believe  that  occupation  can  sharpen                    

professional skills to the fullest and life experience is said to be better than 

theoretical knowledge gained in postgraduate degree. 

 

It  is  no  secret  that  university  offers  the  best  possible  combination  of                          

theoretical  and  practical  knowledge  and  postgraduate  studies  enable                       

scholars  to  reach  the  peak  of  their  field.  However,  when  these  people                    

embark on their careers, there is usually mismatch between their knowledge 

and skills and those required in real life jobs. For this reason, postgraduate 

alumni start their career from the bottom to top like any other employee. It 

means  that  investing  in  further  education  after  university  degree  may  not       

actually pay back as soon as they are employed and a dream job may seem 

too good to be true for them. Thus, work experience has a lot more to offer to 

young employees. 

 

Furthermore,  any  well-paid  jobs  require  along  with  social  skills  and                       

qualification,  a  certain  amount  of  work  experience  counted  in  years.  By                 

enrolling in postgraduate studies young adults may lose extra years during 

which  others  find  lower  jobs  but  settle  down  well  into  their    position  and           

already  aim  for  promotion.  For  example,  managers  and  heads  of  many                 

companies  around  the  world  are  people  with  years  of  experience  in  their 

sphere  which  means  further  university  study  may  not  be  of  actual                              

importance to them. 

 

In  conclusion,  although  university  education  provides  top  quality  tuition 

and postgraduate level guarantees the peak of their field, I believe work and 

life  experience  are  two  key  elements  of  professional  success  and  job                          

satisfaction.  Years  of  hard  work  and  patience  may  help  many  employees 

find their dream jobs.

It is undeniable that technology has had colossal impacts on relationships 

that people make with each other. It seems that technology has affected the 

way children interact, business meetings are organized and also the way 

people socialize with their friends. There is no doubt that this has become a 

negative development. 

 

Prior to technological influence, children used to spend more time outside 

playing with their peers, going to swim or enjoying team games. However, 

we can witness that most children are confined to computers today and 

waste their time playing various video and online games not to mention the 

fact that television watching it becoming the second most enjoyed spare time 

for them. This means that they become isolated from other young children 

and live in their virtual world. Likewise, the way that adults socialize has al-

so been detrimentally impacted. A few decades ago people would gather in 

clubs, cafes and other places to meet their friends and chatted, but today 

online chatting through social networking websites and emailing have be-

come prevalent. Finally, important business meetings and negotiations are 

prevalently conducted online which means the lack of necessity for business 

leaders to make long plane journeys to arrive in business conferences. It 

might be beneficial for companies, but there seems to be less face to face in-

teraction among people. 

 

While the merits of technology-led human relationship are obvious, it is sen-

sible to affirm that this change has negative effects on society and the indi-

vidual. In the first place, people tend to become more isolated from others 

and asocial behavior is likely to develop in people’s relationships. Sociopathy 

is a very negative phenomenon that distracts individuals from normal social 

interaction in different situations. Moreover, people are likely to lose desire 

to be in the company of their friends and relations, instead, they prefer to be 

confined to their computer desk. 

 

In conclusion, technology has changed not only the way children and adults 

interact with friends, but also business meetings can be held online through 

video chats.  I believe this has become a negative trend with worrying and 

grave impacts on societies and people.
