INTRODUCTION
Today, any person, whether it be a high-ranking official or a factory worker, a doctor or a student, everyone can easily say what Coca-Cola is. This drink has become an integral part of festive feasts, a variety of cocktails, and fast food is completely unimaginable without cola. Although initially this drink was sold in pharmacies and was a medicine. But fate decided to do everything in its own way, and it is interesting to know what came of it.
It was 1886, workers were erecting the Statue of Liberty in the port of New York, and another symbol of America was being born a thousand kilometers from the East Coast. Like all people who changed history, Atlanta, Georgia pharmacist John Stith Pemberton was inspired by simple curiosity. He prepared a fragrant syrup by mixing kola nuts and coca leaves, and hurried to a nearby drugstore, Jacob's. There he mixed his liquid with carbonate water and gave it to visitors to taste.
People liked the new drink, and pharmacists began selling it for 5 cents a glass. At the same time, Pemberton's accountant Frank Robinson gave the drink the name Coca-Cola, and drew the company's famous logo in calligraphy.
The new drink has not yet brought big profits: only 9 people bought it per day. In addition, Pemberton's health began to deteriorate, and there were no funds to develop his company. He died on August 16, 1888 in poverty and was buried in the cemetery for the poor.
A couple of years later, Irish businessman Asa Candler bought the recipe from Pemberton's widow for $2,300, who later registered the Coca-Cola company in 1892. The story of Coca-Cola since then has been remarkable. In 1926 the company would start manufacturing its unique bottles which it uses to date. The company went beyond U.S. boundaries in 1928 under Robert Woodruff who was the company president at the time. In the 1960s, the company expanded its product range by developing new flavors such Sprite, Fanta and Fresca and also acquired Minute Maid company. This brought a completely new line of products to the company, greatly changed its image, and opened up new markets thereby increasing its sales volumes. The story was no different in the 1980s when the company became renowned for its incredible innovativeness that ultimately changed the company. It introduced diet coke which instantly became the world’s most famous low-calorie soft drink. The company continues to grow and today is the unbeatable market leader in the world soft drink market.
In the 1990s and 2000s the company is turning into a large concern, producing more than 200 types of various products, but still the leadership remains with the three main drinks: Coca-Cola, Fanta and Sprite. In addition, the company produces natural juices, and, together with Nestle, Nestea and Nescafe cold drinks. The rights to the Schweppes trademark, formerly owned by Cadbury, were also acquired.
Today, about 1.9 billion bottles of Coca-Cola are sold worldwide every day, given that the company started with 9 cups of the drink a day. And net income in 2017 due to US tax reforms was $1.25 billion, almost $6 billion less than in 2016. But this does not prevent the company from remaining one of the most expensive and recognizable brands around the world.
And yet, work, inner flair, intuition and great enthusiasm for the example of the success of The Coca-Cola Company show that nothing is impossible. The case of John Pemberton and Asa Candler lives on to this day, being one of the most high-profile chapters in the history of global brands.

The role and influence of motivation when buying a product

The motivation behind every decision to buy a product is an adult phenomenon that plays an important role in the choice a person makes when buying a product. This phenomenon is aimed at the fulfillment of desire and satisfaction. Once the desire is achieved, the person is ready to make repeat purchases to satisfy their needs.

Consumer motivation is closely related to Maslow's "hierarchy of needs". There are different levels of motivation that are affected by the importance of the purchase to the consumer. As the purchase becomes more important, so does the level of motivation. When purchase satisfaction is low, such as with groceries, so are motivation levels, and this often entails little decision-making behavior.

Motivation scales are varied and therefore different people tend to choose different products according to their motivation scales. The involvement of a third party greatly influences the final decision an individual makes regarding a product or service.
