Can’t have(done)/couldn’t have (done)—o’tkan zamonda biror ish qilishning imkoni bo’lmaganligini aytish uchun ishlatiladi va o’zbek tiliga “—magan bo’lsa kerak” deb tarjima qilinadi:

  She was so far away,so she couldn’t have seen you.

  Tom couldn’t have played football last Sunday because he was ill.
  

Note: Inkor gaplarda couldn’t have(done)/can’t have (done) shaklidan may/might not have (done)ning farqi bor:

• 
  —“I wonder why she didn’t say “Hello”
  

—“She might not have seen you “(perhaps she didn’t see you , perhaps she did)

    Darak gaplarda could have (done) shaklini may/might have (done) ning o’rnida ishlatilishi mumkin:

  Kishilardan biror ish so’rash, iltimos, qilish uchun can yoki could ishlatiladi:

Note: Shuningdek, will hamda would kishilardan biror ish qilishni so’rash ,iltemos qilish uchun ham ishlatiladi(lekin ko’pincha can/could ishlatiladi)
