Optional Activity 6 Work in pairs. Play “Look and guess”.
Objective: to consolidate the letters A, B, C and D
There are two versions of the guessing game.
VERSION 1 “Writing in the air”
Ask the pupils to work in pairs and practise the four letters they already know. Ask the pupils to look at the picture in Activity 6 and say what letter the boy wrote. Ask them to guess whatletter you will “write in the air”. Try several letters to demonstrate.When the pupils know what to do, ask them to start.
VERSION 2 “Back drawing”
Ask the pupils to work in pairs and practise the four lettersthey already know. Ask the pupils to “write” the letters on eachother’s backs. Demonstrate with one pupil. Ask him/her to cometo you and stand facing the board. “Write” the letter A, for examplewith your finger on a kid’s back and ask what letter youhave written.
Homework
Draw the pupils’ attention to Page 7 in their Workbooks. Saythat their homework is on this page. Ask whether the homeworkis clear to them. If necessary, explain that they should matchcapital and small letters in Activity 2 by drawing a line betweenthem as shown.Say that they should also continue writing the letters in Activity5 on Page 6 and draw and colour the picture of the train.
Don’t forget to check their homework at the next lesson.
Note: Ask the pupils to bring family photos for the next lesson.
