Required equipment
Pupil’s book, Workbook, the DVD, cards with letters, two pictures as in the Pupil’s book: a snake and bees
Activity 1 Listen and sing.
Objectives:
to warm up; to create an English speaking atmosphere.
Ask the pupils to listen and sing the song. Look at Unit 1, Lesson1, Activity 1 for the instructions.
Activity 2 Play “Run and point”.
Objectives: to revise vocabulary from Class 1; to enable pupils to recognise voiced and unvoiced endings in plurals.
STEP 1: Put on the board two pictures as in the Pupil’s book (a snake and bees) and explain that you are going to play a game. Say that when you say a word with voiced ending (e.g. bags) they must run and point the picture with bees. When you say a word with unvoiced ending (e.g. cats) they must run and point the picture with a snake.
STEP 2: Divide your pupils into 2 teams and put them int 2 rows against the board. Demonstrate what to do with the first pupils in the rows. Say “Bags” and let the first pupils run and point the picture with bees. Say the words they know from Class 1, for example: hop, swim, jump, fly, horse cow, goat, sheep, rooster, hen, dog, cat, duck, lion, pen, pencil, book, etc.
