Activity 2a Look, listen and repeat. 10 min

Objective: to listen for detail

STEP 1: Draw the pupils’ attention to the pictures. Ask themto read the dialogues silently at first.

STEP 2: Play the DVD or read the dialogues between Beenyand his relatives. Discuss what they are talking about.

STEP 3: Then the pupils listen again and repeat the dialogues.

STEP 4: Write the words: sunny, cloudy, rainy, lazy on theboard and underline the letter “y” in each word. Have the pupilsrepeat the words after you and then let them read themselves inchorus.

Optional Activity 2b Look, read and match.

Objective: to enable pupils to identify the meanings of the words

Ask the pupils to open their Workbooks on Page 39 and matchthe words used in Activity 2a and their meanings. After the pupilsfinish matching, you can ask them to repeat the words afteryou.
