objectives, content and assessment criteria, as well as choice of 
relevant pedagogical teaching/learning methods. 
Deductive learning/approach: it is an inquiry-based approach 
in which students are given a question to answer, a problem to 
solve, or a set of observations to explain, and then work in a largely 
self-directed manner to complete their assigned tasks and draw 
appropriate inferences from the outcomes, “discovering” the desired 
factual and conceptual knowledge in the process. 
deductive reasoning: reasoning from the general to the 
particular (or from cause to effect). 
descriptor: brief descriptions of real-world language 
performance, usually arranged on a scale. 
Differentiate approach: singling out the learners on the basis 
of the mixed differentiation in accordance with abilities, type of an 
educational establishment.
discourse: language (spoken or written) that has been produced 
as a result of an act of communication.
