IF A FLEET DRIVER HAS A MEDICAL CONDITION, OR IS PRESCRIBED
MEDICATION THAT CAN AFFECT THE ABILITY TO OPERATE A MOTOR VEHICLE,
THE DRIVER MUST REFRAIN FROM DRIVING THE FLEET VEHICLE AND NOTIFY
HUMAN RESOURCES AT HR@RENEWALCAROLINAS.COM.


Loss of Company Vehicle Privileges

RbA the Carolinas Fleet Policy is designed to promote safety and to


protect its drivers, vehicle occupants, employees, associates, customers,
and the general public, as well as safeguard company assets. The
company may revoke driving privileges and/or seek a full
reimbursement from a driver for a loss occurring as a result of violation of
the Fleet Policy, negligence, or willful misconduct by the Authorized
Driver entrusted with the care, custody, and control of the company
vehicle. Negligence or willful misconduct includes, but is not limited to,
the following events if it is determined that the operator of the vehicle
committed any of the following violations:



  • Driving under the influence (DUI) of alcohol or drugs.

  • Felony, homicide, or manslaughter including without limitation arising out of the operation of a motor vehicle.

  • Distracted driving, including the use of a cell phone, tablet, computer, or any electronic device.

  • Operating a company or personal vehicle without a valid driver’s license.

  • Leaving the scene of an accident (hit and run).

  • Misrepresenting the facts concerning an accident.

  • Reckless driving.

  • Failure to attend a court ordered or company required defensive driving course.

  • Operating a company in an unsafe condition, while having prior knowledge of such condition.

  • Causing damage to a third party arising from the driver’s negligence or willful misconduct.

  • Operating a company or personal vehicle in violation of federal, state or local laws.

  • Motor vehicle theft.

  • Allowing an unauthorized person to operate the vehicle.

  • Operating the vehicle in violation of this agreement.

  • Carrying a weapon of any kind in the company vehicle.

  • Any other unlawful conduct.

  • The company vehicle may not be used to conduct any other

  • business (including the authorized driver's self-owned business), while the authorized driver is acting as an agent of another company or organization.

  • Conviction of sale, handling, or use of illegal drugs.

Disciplinary Process

Moving violations may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment.




Point System

All authorized drivers will be placed into one of three Risk Categories, based on their driving record, via a point system. This point system will reflect the previous experience of the authorized driver. The following chart represents the point system in use.
