1)"Yana qarsak zalni koʻtarguday boʻldi. Butun zal domlaga qaradi" (Abdulla Qahhor "Sarob" 94-bet)


Hall- is the name of the building which is not used in the meaning of the building in the contexts above it means the people sitting in it. The function of the metonymy in this context is to make the utterance concise.
"Again the applause seemed to lift the hall. The whole hall looked at the teacher". Metonymy in the Uzbek language in the example #1 can be translated into English by means of the same type of metonymy as in both languages there are cases to use names of countries, building, cities for the people they contain.
2) "Saroy tinch uyquda, tun yarim "(A. Qodiriy "O'tkan kunlar" 87-bet)
Palace - is the name of building which is not used in the meaning of building. In the context above at means the people living or working in it. The function of the metonymy in this context is to make the utterance concise.
"The palace is peacefully asleep, midnight"
Metonymy in the Uzbek language in the example #2 can be translated into English by means of the same type of metonymy as in both languages there are cases to use names of countries, building, cities for the people they contain.
3) "Ammo bobom tushkur munchoq - munchoq ter bossa ham pisand qilmaydi. (Oybek "Bolalik" 30-bet)
Bead - is the name of thing which is not used in the meaning of bead. In context, human perspiration is likened to a round bead.
The function of metaphor in this context is to express the transfer of meaning in the sentence.
"Even if my grandfather sweats like beads, he doesn't mind.
Metaphor in the uzbek language in the example #3 can be translated into English by means of the same type of metaphor as in both language.
4)Pul yo'q. Bir tiyin ham yo'q. Hammasini rais supurib ketgan.(Said Ahmad "Jimjitlik" 38-bet)
The root meaning of the lexeme to sweep is to clean from dust with a broom. In this context, the meaning of the lexeme to sweep is to lose.
The function of metaphor in this context is to express the transfer of meaning in the sentence.
" There is no money: Not a penny. All were swept away by the chairman"
Metaphor in the Uzbek language in the example #4 can be translated into English by means of the same type of metaphor as in both language
5) “Zulmat ostonasidagi muhabbat”. 1-fasl Dilfuza Sobirova tarjimasi 10-bet
Jingalak bronza sochlarini ko’z qirim bilan ko’rib ulgurdim.
Bronza sochlarini- it is sifatlash in uzbek. Because there is no bronze hair but there is bronze color hair
I can also glance at his bronze hair
Sifatlash is called in English as epithet
6) Fuzuliyni yaxshilab o'qush kerak.(Abdulla Qodiriy "Otkan kunlar" 85-bet)
Fuzuli's works are meant in this context. In synecdoche, the name of the whole thing is expressed by the name of its part, and vice versa, the name of the part is expressed by the name of the whole thing.
Fuzuli should be read carefully
Synecdoche in the Uzbek language in the example #6 can be translated into English by means of the same type of synecdoche in both language.
7) Mahallangda oyoqlar tentirib qoldi.(Oybek "Qalbdan sevgi toshdi" 3-bet)
In this context, the legs represent the whole people through the parts of the person. In synecdoche, the name of the whole thing is expressed by the name of its part, and vice versa, the name of the part is expressed by the name of the whole thing
Legs are walking in the neighborhood
Synecdoche in the Uzbek language in the example #7 can be translated into English by means of the same type of synecdoche as in both language.
8)”Zulmat ostonasidagi muhabbat”. 1-fasl Dilfuza Sobirova tarjimasi 177-BET
― Yo’q. Bu men uchun hayotimning intihosi emas, ibtidosi bo’ladi!
Intiho and ibtido : ziddiyat. There are 2 words which are opposite ( the end and beginning)
-no. it is not the end of my life but it is the beginning.
Ziddiyat is an oxymoron in English
9)Ra'noni egasiga topshirmag'uningizcha, -dedi Nigor oyim-quyulmaydirg'ang'a o'xshaydilar.( Abdulla Qodiriy "Mehrobdan Chayon" 47-bet)
In this sentence, from the pain of view of of speech etiquette, the euphemism of the from "Erga bermoq" is used instead of the phrase "Egasiga topshirmoq".
In this context The main function of euphemism is to use polite words instead of rude ones.
“Nigora said we will not rest until she is married”.
Euphemism in the Uzbek language in the example can be translated into English by means of the same type of euphemism as in both languages
10) Said Ahmad “ufq” 506-bet
“Sizga men qo’y emasman”
In here, it is “ kinoya” in uzbek language, for he said that he is not an animal which can be managed and grown.
I am not a sheep.
In enlish, it can be translated too and it is called an irony which is equal in uzbek version.
