3. Service in the running activity means the ability to constantly monitor and determine the attitude
of the manufacturer to the maximum consumer satisfaction in quality. In the industrial economy,
on the basis of quality, only the ability of the operator to "do his job well" is understood.
4. The management system in the service economy is also changing. Its main features are flexibility,
quick decision-making, organization, freedom of movement and transparency, while in the
industrial economy management is "mechanical," that is, it is determined by the hierarchy of
structures and their excessive regulation.
5. In the service economy, the focus is on the efficiency of the service system, and in the industrial
economy, on the converting raw materials into finished products.
From the above, we can conclude that the effective functioning of the service economy is radically
different from the effective functioning of the traditional (industrial) economy and is more socially
oriented.
Thus, the development of the service economy in countries based on a developed market economy
leads to a new understanding of socio-economic development. In particular, the key role in this
played not only by the rate of quantitative growth, but also by social indicators, indicators of the
quality of life. In such an environment, effective activity is defined as meeting the needs of members
of society, primarily socially oriented goals. In an industrialized economy, more quantitative,
economic and priority goals are envisaged.
Taking into account the aforementioned features of the service economy, its main differences from
the industrial economy are presented in Table 1.5 below.
In general, considering the theoretical foundations of the service economy, it should be noted that
changes in economic conditions in countries with developed market economies require a broader
category of effective activities. The new approach to the category of efficiency is becoming more and
more popular in the foreign economy. This approach emphasizes that the content of effective
activities can achieve results not in terms of net quantity, but in terms of quality.
